MRS FAIRPORT RETIRES GRACEFULLY

Colloquially known as ‘Mrs Fairport’, Linda White, Fairport Engineering’s Marketing Manager, is well known throughout the UK mining and quarrying industries. She has achieved particular renown as the ‘Face of Fairport’ at many conferences and exhibitions.

Despite her highly visible profile and standing, it is not as widely known that she has been an enthusiastic and dedicated member of the Materials Handling Engineers Association’s (MHEA) Executive Committee for the last 12 years.

Initially adopted as the late Harold Wright’s ‘Right Hand’ woman, Linda has provided senior executives from the leading UK materials handling companies with that ‘other view’ of matters from the industry and work place. She can be credited with instigating Meet the Buyer events as well as using her many contacts to boost the membership and attract high quality speakers to the annual BulkEx seminars and exhibitions.

But, as with many things in life, there comes a point when it’s time to hang your stilettos up and due to increasing work demands, and a growing number of grand-children, Linda took the difficult decision to step down as Fairport’s representative to the MHEA earlier this year.

Pictured, above, with Michael Kaye the MHEA President at the MHEA BulkEx 2018 Gala Dinner, she was honoured (and a little surprised) to receive an unexpected award in recognition of her highly valued service to the Association over the years.
