Since joining Hargreaves Industrial Services in 2025 as Mechanical Engineering Manager he has raised engineering standards and fostered collaboration. His deep cement sector knowledge has secured key contracts and strengthened client relationships. Andrew’s cross-sector work spanning Power, Ports, Waste, and Aggregates he has delivered bespoke solutions enhancing safety, efficiency, and reliability. His resolution of a long-standing issue for Viridor showcased his problem-solving under pressure. Respected for his professionalism and mentorship Andrew blends engineering excellence with commercial acumen to drive innovation.

Carlo Marson – NORD GEAR Limited

Nominated by Veolia, saying, ‘Carlo has been an exceptional asset during major upgrades at two Liverpool MRF sites over the past 18 months. Facing significant technical and operational challenges, his expertise and calm problem-solving ensured project success. Carlo meticulously reviewed and specified every site drive, introducing standardisation that improved reliability, reduced downtime, and simplified maintenance. He also led the design and implementation of a new gear unit stores system, modernising stock management and boosting efficiency. Known for his commitment, teamwork, and hands-on support, Carlo’s innovation and reliability have delivered lasting benefits, making him a strong Engineer of the Year candidate’

Andrew Morse – O.C.O. Technology Limited

 

Andrew Morse, Chief Engineer at O.C.O Technology, has led groundbreaking projects advancing global carbon capture and utilisation. He oversees the world’s first commercial Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) plants, transforming hazardous Air Pollution Control (APC) residue into safe construction aggregate. Tackling the challenges of reactive APC material, Andrew has developed sealed, corrosion-resistant handling systems and innovative post-carbonation solutions for poor flow and density variation. Over the past year, he has directed full lifecycle engineering in the UK and Spain, including feed systems, conveyors, dosing, silos, and mixers. His leadership spans international patents, Direct Air Capture integration, and global partnerships, exemplifying engineering excellence.
