MHEA Excellence Awards are ‘a significant endorsement’

The entry deadline for the second MHEA Excellence Awards is just over five weeks away and the organisers are reminding all companies and individuals to enter.

Categories are: Innovation Award, Apprentice of the Year, Project of the Year and Supplier of the Year and entries can be made online or via a downloadable entry pack. Deadline for entries is 31st July 2017.

Last year’s winner of Project of the Year was Midland Quarry Products Ltd (MQP), for uplifting and relocating the 1000 tonne Cliffe Hill Primary Crushing Station as a complete assembly.

On receiving the accolade, Bob Davies Engineering Manager, said: “We promoted the winning of this award internally among our staff and it was taken as a significant award by everyone. A project of this type and complexity hadn’t been done before and our success in doing so became well-known within the industry.

“Being awarded Project of the Year by the MHEA puts Midland Quarry Products on the map with regards to the materials handling industry.”

Michael Kaye, President of the MHEA, said: “MHEA Member companies and individual members can nominate themselves and non-members for one or more of the awards.

“Your contribution to the bulk materials handling industry is valued whether you work within bulk materials or an allied industry such as ports, steel, mining or cement.

“Entry is free and straightforward, so please do compile one or more. We want everyone to shout about their achievements over the last 12 months and offer them the opportunity to be recognised for their outstanding work.”
