ConSpare launches ‘Make it better’ brand as it celebrates 40th anniversary

Concrete production process improvement specialist ConSpare is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is marking the occasion with the launch of a new brand aimed at helping concrete producers to ‘Make it better’.

The Nottinghamshire family firm was established in 1978 by Jim and Hilary Bullock, to sell spare parts to concrete producers.

It has evolved to become one of the leading suppliers to the UK concrete industry, offering a comprehensive range of concrete production equipment, specialist spare parts and industry-leading advice and expertise.

ConSpare’s team of highly-skilled and experienced engineers is widely considered the UK’s leading authority on abrasive wear in concrete mixers, mixing technology and batch plant processes.

Over the years, it has provided expertise and support to some of Europe’s biggest infrastructure projects, including the Hinkley Point C nuclear powerplant, and Crossrail.

Jim’s sons James and David joined the firm in the mid-80s and daughter Alison in the early-90s, while grandson Tom represents the third generation within the family business.

ConSpare has grown from initially employing three people into an £8m turnover business which employs 38 people across two sites in Pinxton.

The firm founded a sister company, ProSpare, in 2009, which specialises in providing materials handling and conveyor solutions to heavy industries, along with supplying hygienic powder handling equipment to the food, pharmaceutical and animal feed sectors.

It has launched the ‘Make it better’ brand concept, backed by a new website at www.conspare.com, which better reflects the business, the role it plays in helping concrete producers to make their plants, processes and equipment better, and to showcase the full breadth of specialist products and on-site services it offers.

James Bullock, ConSpare’s Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 40 years in business and it’s fantastic to be able to look back and see how much the business has changed and grown over the years.

“However, we are extremely excited about the launch of ‘Make it better’ to usher in the next exciting chapter of our story.

“Our innovative new approach delivers improved productivity, safety and product quality for concrete producers. Our combination of market-leading, high-performance components and unrivalled expertise means we can solve batch plant problems, from the start of the process to the finish.

“Over the past 40 years, we have grown to become a key problem-solving partner to the industry and ‘Make it better’ will ensure that our evolution continues.”

ConSpare will be launching its new ‘Make it better’ brand and concept at Hillhead 2018 – the world’s biggest quarrying and construction exhibition – on 26-28 June at Harpur Hill, near Buxton, Derbyshire. Join its expert team on Stand F6 to find out more.
