Buttimer Engineering is a diversified engineering business that specialises in materials handling of dry and liquid bulk products such as grains, agri-bulks, ores, fuel, minerals, biomass, and aggregates.
We have over forty-five years’ experience in design, fabrication, supply and site erection of bulk handling solutions for grain stores, mines, industrial plants, ports, and power stations, supplying first class services to clients establishing or upgrading their facilities’ materials handling systems.
Buttimer Engineering provide complete turnkey Dry Bulk Materials Handling and Storage solutions, with customer engagement typically commencing with development of a concept design and process flow drawings, followed by detail design, manufacturing, site installation, and commissioning. This initial capital project can be followed by Buttimer’s ongoing operations and maintenance service where we keep all the elements of the facility in optimal condition for safe and cost-effective operations.
We also design and supply single items such as belt conveyors, chain conveyors, bucket elevators, filters, dryers, hoppers, bins, silos, and ash handling systems, whereby each item benefits from four decades of Buttimer dry bulk know-how, quality in house manufacture and customer care.
Buttimer Engineering also design and manufacture mobile ship unloading hoppers under our DOCKSOLID® brand, a range of state-of-the-art port equipment developed by Buttimer Engineering for over 40 years. DOCKSOLID® dry bulk handling equipment provides efficient ship loading and unloading, whilst incorporating dust suppression systems and innovative features such as patented DOCKSOLID® steering, suspension, and drive systems.

Buttimer Engineering provides a unique equipment installation and commissioning service to its clients that frequently comprises of combining bespoke specialist equipment designed and manufactured by Buttimer’s, with more straightforward bought in equipment and ancillary components.
Following installation, we also undertake the Commissioning phase.
